First Taste 03:01
First taste Both ripe and sour First taste Both yours and mine First taste Both ripe and sour First taste Both yours and mine Migration winds Blew eighteen years Then that first breath Of home again Fold endlessly Your wayward lives In to my own Just come home again First taste Both ripe and sour First taste Both yours and mine First taste Both ripe and sour First taste Both yours and mine For you I took it off For, for you I took it all off For you I took it off For, for, for you... First taste Both ripe and sour First taste Both yours and mine First taste Both ripe and sour First taste Both yours and mine

One Up 04:56
Like threading your skin, with stolen strings Love, why be so reckless when your heart is still? "Don’t fight the morning, it always wins..." Burnt paper on the windowsill Used breathing as currency Traded your words in for Four times the pleasure for you - The split in you to begin Well it never looked this good before You never tasted this sweet before Oh, funny how I’m so hungry now When you never tasted this sweet before I’ll trade all my words in for A little piece of you, my love I’ll pull down the covers for you A little piece of you, my love ‘Cos all time spent in longing, Is just more words for you Fall in line, it takes no courage To split your own head in two... Checked out after evening fell Coming up slow and hard Four times I begged for release For the split in me to begin Oh, it never looked this good before You never tasted this sweet before Oh, funny how I’m so hungry now When you never tasted this sweet before I’ll trade all my words in for A little piece of you, my love I’ll pull down the covers for you A little piece of you, my love ‘Cos all time spent in longing, Is just more words for you Fall in line, it takes no courage To split your own head in two Time spent in longing, Is just more words for you Fall in line, it takes no courage To split your own head in two... Take one more look around you, Your precious kingdom Its glue and paper. Take one more look around you, Your precious kingdom Its glue and paper.

Roadside 04:17
Pulled over reverently, a roadside pact We have a special bond that turns time back Over the chemical and sensual We know a special place that turns time back Played for longevity, our heartstrings snapped You let my scatterbrain dig in your back Strip back the chemical and sensual You let my wicked mind feign a heart attack Put to the test, Remedy’s worse than death. Put to the test, Let your old insides shed. Put to the test, Remedy’s worse than death. Put to the test, Let your old insides shed. You pull me underground in faithless snatch Beneath your fingernails, the nerve it peels back Beneath your silver skin, and your stardust heart We know a special place, that time gave back Put to the test, Remedy’s worse than death. Put to the test, Let your old insides shed. Put to the test, Remedy’s worse than death. Put to the test, Let your old insides shed.

Bond together Parasites in love Through skin And artery Your breath and life Mean death to me So come, come unfold From two to three Failing heart Beat patiently for one Whose lips suck hungrily Behind my eyes Your symmetry Well, sleeplessness Always came easily To me... Forced inside of me Your desire of me I can’t ever go home Forced inside of me Now your desire of me Won’t let me ever go home So bond together Parasites in love Through skin And artery Your breath and life Mean death to me So come, come unfold From two to three Forced inside of me Your desire of me I can’t ever go home Forced inside of me Now your desire of me Won’t let me ever go home

He’s waiting for me The other side of this tree Whose roots I fed Powder and sadness He’s changing pace for me Just the other side of our tree Laying down his old friend Countless feet of snow and sand But I - Turn to wood Turn inward Turn to wood Turn inward Turn to wood Turn inward Talk gently to me Love me in hyperbole While your roots are fed Only on my mess Keep changing pace for me While we cut down all the old trees Lay down your finest men Buried deep in harbour sand But I - Turn to wood Turn inward Turn to wood Turn inward Turn to wood Turn inward Torchlight on the water In my head Eyes set on the water In my head All of this pass - Before too long, Before too long... All of this pass - Before too long, Before too long...

Wintersong 05:39
Fourteen points west The borderline Out on the street Thats not real shine Fourteen points west The borderline I used your eyes, and you Used mine... You’re out of phase Inverted lines Violet and cool ‘gainst Morningsign Fourteen points west The borderline I’ll use your eyes, and you You use mine... Wintersong on the morning breeze Lets in yesterday’s lovers Wearing tired gloves, and worn out shoes. Yesterday’s lovers Are old today. Dug out of ground, Your bones align Nervous but smooth, And soft inside Fourteen points west The borderline We'll you use your eyes, You use mine Bones above ground All our people make houses now Bones above ground All our people make houses now

about

Emerging progressive soul band Levingstone are planting their seed into the music world by dropping their first other-worldly EP dubbed ‘Modern Burials’.
Hauntingly beautiful, 'Modern Burials' comes from a common thread that runs through all of Levingstone’s songs - exploring the ways people bury their inner selves to fit in to modern life, and the way we have buried nature beneath the modern world.

“I think that sense of alienation is something quite universal, and these songs are approaching that from different angles,” said Sammii Su.
“Not all of these angles are negative - there are also references to love being a protective force to shroud ourselves in, and I think that seed is planted somewhere even in the darker moments on the EP,” she said.

Pulling colours from jazz, neo soul, rock and progressive pop, Levingstone paints a picture that is all their own - each song a landscape richly inhabited by their unique brand of storytelling.

The band have already received love from Triple J/Unearthed, The Edge, The Music, Tone Deaf and FBi Radio with their single ‘First Taste’.

Levingstone are also gearing up for a tour supporting ‘Modern Burials’, hitting Melbourne, Newcastle, Canberra, Sydney and Wollongong.
The EP Launch will be held in Sydney at The Oxford Circus on the 4th August 2016.
